Our program provides supervised visitation and support services for families whose children are in foster or other temporary out-of-home care through our child-friendly centers. Services assist families in reunification efforts, help children maintain their bond with parents, siblings who are placed in other homes, and other people important to the child while the child is in out-of-home care, and improves child well-being and outcomes for families through ensuring all needs of children and families are being met. Families served will have reunification or concurrent case plans. Children in families served through our visitation program are in foster care or other out-of-home care through a protective order or safety plan agreement. Supervised visits are provided to families weekly; assessment and parenting time plan development ensure all services provided will meet the family’s needs; transportation is available to improve access to services; urine drug screen testing is provided to parents who visit at our centers when needed; parenting education using STEP parenting curriculum assists families in improving skills and knowledge; parent coaching supports adults in becoming better parents for their children, reinforces parenting knowledge, and focuses on specific skills needed to meet a child’s individual special needs; service coordination supports the family in receiving all needed services from community providers and ensures services are appropriate; family advocacy supports parents in better understanding their case plan requirements to achieve reunification. Referrals for services are accepted from DFCS, judges, and attorneys.
